- The History Of -

The Purple Poppy is a special store. Its unique style comes from its owner and buyer Connie Goggin. She is able to handpick the best from the fashion world and bring it to the Purple Poppy. Her eye for fashion, ability to stay on the cutting edge of style and attention to detail has allowed the Purple Poppy to delight its customers for over 25 years.

In the beginning, the Purple Poppy was a seasonal store located on Cape Cod in Popponesset. Back in the early 80’s the Popponesset Marketplace consisted of a dirt parking lot, a general store, and a post office. When the post office closed the Purple Poppy moved in. In those days Connie sold a lot of seasonal vacation items. I am sure some of you remember the “Wicked Good in Popponesset” T-shirts and bumper stickers (the day-glo pink and green colors were very hard to forget.)

Connie’s early success enabled the Purple Poppy to relocate to a larger store in the Mashpee Commons in the early 90’s and focus on classic contemporary women’s clothing. Connie has filled the store with an abundance of color, style, and choice. With an emphasis on service, Connie and her team will help you coordinate, accessorize and build the perfect wardrobe.

We invite you to “Come on in, Fall in Love with the Purple Poppy!”
