With the holiday season in full swing, it’s important to keep in mind what the holidays are about: giving back. Putting your best foot forward and supporting your community can make a huge difference, no matter how small the gesture is. If you’re stuck on ideas, here are some of our favorites:
Donating Unwanted Clothing
If your clothes are in good condition and you simply haven’t worn in in over six months for whatever reason, donate them to a local charity, a church, or pass them on to a family you know in your community. Clothing is expensive and when money is tight, a new winter jacket or clean socks isn’t always a top priority.
Contribute to Your Favorite Charity
Charities need contributions to keep running and to be able to help others. Whether you’re donating $2.00 or $100.00, every little bit counts and will go towards someone in need. If you often forget about contributing, many charities will offer reoccurring contributions at whichever price point you choose. This will help you contribute on a consistent basis.
Volunteer Your Time
Volunteering is one of our favorite ways to give back. There’s a volunteering opportunity for everyone, no matter what your interests are! From reading to children at the library to walking dogs at your local shelter and even visiting sick patients at the hospital.
Shop for a Cause
Many local stores (and even multi-million-dollar ones!) will offer a shopping for a cause night around the holiday season. Join us on Wednesday, December 6 from 6:00 PM – 9:00 PM for our Holiday Shopping Night. All you have to do is bring in an unwrapped toy to donate to charity and receive 10% off your purchase!
